Ans. You cannot have tea or coffee during the diet except the herbal ones. Also, the only sweetener allowed is stevia. And coffees with stevia are only recommended, otherwise not.
Q. Is alcohol allowed?
Ans. There is a big NO to alcohol while following the diet.
Q. Can we have Chapati, wheat, cereal, bread, etc.?
Ans. All these items are not allowed as it increases the weight. It has carbohydrates which is not good for health. If you don’t follow the diet properly, then your whole effort will be vain and you will gain weight again after the diet gets over.
Q. Is it a good option to have salt, pepper and other spices?
Ans. Yes, you can have salt, pepper or any other spices but in limited quantity. As you are drinking lots of water, so you need to have salt. Now you have better options too like unprocessed or sea salt. Also, you may add pepper, herbs or spices to your food to make it tasty.
Q. What to eat after the GM diet?
Ans. This is a very subjective question. After vast studies and experience, we have come to various conclusions about the diet plan. You should have balanced meals irrespective of whether you are vegetarian or non vegetarian.
Eat 3 meals a day with short servings in between the meals. Do not fill your stomach in one go. You should have short meals. Your meals must have proteins and ample of vegetables. But remember not to have wheat or bread so often. We recommend having gluten free and grain free diet as whole foods are always best. Also in your servings or mid day meals you can have 2-3 fruits a day. But a big no to all the processed foods completely.
Your body also requires good fat and carbohydrates such as white potatoes, sweet potatoes, squashes, white rice and good fat like olive oil, coconut oil, meat, etc.
Q. Can we repeat the GM diet again?
Ans. Yes, but at least a week gap in between the two diet plans. You may repeat the GM Diet as many times until you reach your goal.
Q. What are the chances of gaining weight once the diet gets over?
Ans.The chances of putting weight after the diet depend on your diet after completing the diet plan. Remember to have balanced meals in your routine. It is always advisable to continue the same diet with some alterations after the GM Diet gets over.
Q. Are dried fruits or nuts allowed during the diet plan?
Ans. No, dried fruits or nuts are not allowed in this plan. Once the diet gets over, you may have some of these but in limited quantities as they are concentrated sources of food.
Q. What can be the substitutes for vegetarians?
Ans. As meat or chicken is an important serving of food in the diet. So vegetarians face a grave problem while following the diet. There are few options that can replace meat like any good fat or olive oil, coconut oil, butter or ghee with the meals. Also you can have curd and paneer as meat replacement.
Q. Can we eat at places like Subway or eat processed meats/foods?
Ans. Again, it’s a big NO. GM Diet never recommends such foods like bread, sulphites, nitrates and phosphates. These all have high sugar and salt and are processed too. You have to completely cut your all processed foods.
