Basic Menu for the Grapefruit Diet

    * Green salad with your favorite dressing

    * Red or green vegetable cooked with butter for the salad

    * Any meat product

    * One cup of tea or coffee

    * Sugarless coffee or tea 

Lunch:

    * Half a grapefruit or grapefruit juice

    * Two eggs

    * Cucumber and tomato salad with vinegar and lemon

    * One slice of dry toast

    * Coffee or tea

Dinner:

    * Half a grapefruit or grapefruit juice

    * Five ounces of meat

    * Lettuce and tomato salad with lemon and vinegar

    * Coffee or tea

  • Grapefruit is acidic in nature and its over consumption could lead to sore mouth.
  • Consumption of grapefruit could lead to stomach ailments and ulcers. 
  • The menu in grapefruit diet doesnot meet the minimum daily caloric intake. It is difficult to carry on with such a diet for twelve days.
  • Medical studies have concluded that grapefruit hinders the medications related to intestinal tract.
