Fruits:
As we all know, fruits are the main ingredient of day 1 and almost all the fruits are allowed except bananas and avocados or the fruits which contain excessive fat and carbohydrate content. Also these fruits are heavy on the digestive system, so these must be avoided. This will rather increase your weight instead of losing it.
Moreover, bananas are only allowed on day 4 of the GM Diet plan as on day 4 bananas and milk can be consumed. If you are planning to buy the grocery in advance then buy raw bananas as by the time you reach day 4 they become ready to be eaten.
The fruits which should be consumed include watermelons, berries and citrus fruits. But remember not to have very sweet fruits which have high calories. These fruits become the impediments in your diet and hence thwart the weight loss regimen.
Vegetables:
Vegetables are allowed on the second, sixth and seventh day of the diet. So you need to buy in good quantity but buy those vegetables which have high fibre content and are easily digested such as all the green, leafy vegetables. Some people like to have fresh vegetables and they might buy on the same day but be cautious that you don’t break the diet plan in between or you may procure them in advance only.
Meat:
GM Diet includes only beef but keeping in mind that not all people prefer beef, chicken is allowed but without skin. Lean chicken is a substitute of beef. Few chicken recipes and soup recipes are specially designed for the followers who don’t eat beef. But remember chicken or beef is allowed only on fifth and seventh day of the diet.
Beverages:
There are not many options in beverages. You can have fresh squeezed juices and that too on second day of the diet. Packaged drinks are not at all allowed as they are enriched with preservatives. Dairy products such as milk and yogurt cannot be taken every day. You cannot take milk until day 4 and yogurt can be taken with vegetables on seventh day.
Starch:
Brown rice is the only form of starch that is allowed. It is to be consumed on the seventh day of the diet with vegetables. Brown rice is rich in fibre and low in calories. It’s tasty and healthy too. Not to have white rice as it is rich in carbohydrates, hence increases the calorie count in your body.
